2019 Junior Jug

Congratulations to Brisbane & District, winner of this year's Junior Jug.

Well done to our team of Rebecca, Sunday and Caitlyn, who came second. Brisbane & District led us by 4 points heading into the final match today. Our team did very well to maximise our position by winning both matches this morning and adding 4 points to our score. Brisbane & District, however, also had a good win against the Gold Coast which put them in the winning position.

The 2019 Junior Jug Tournament was played at Calliope Country Club, located in Central Queensland, about a 20 minute drive inland from Gladstone.

Our team is Rebecca O'Neill, Sunday Moore & Caitlyn Wheatley. Rebecca is a member of Gympie Golf Club and Sunday and Caitlyn are from Noosa Springs. District President, Judy Patterson and Sue Graham, our Junior Coordinator, are with the girls. Play well and enjoy the experience!

Wednesday 10 July

Our last day was very successful against Far North Queensland. Rebecca (4/3) and Sunday (2 Up) won their matches and earned us the maximum 4 points. This year though, we were once again the runner-up, coming in with 14 points behind Brisbane & District with 17.5 points.

Sue Graham said 'by today, all the girls from the Districts were enjoying each other's company - lovely to see'. Well played girls!

The results today were -

against the Gold Coast this morning: Sunday - won 4/3 and Rebecca lost 3/2
against Central Queensland/Central Highlands this afternoon: Caitlyn lost 3/1 and Rebecca won 4/3

Leading into the final match tomorrow this puts us in second place with 10 points behind Brisbane & District who have 14 points. Gold Coast are third with 8 points.

We had a successful day today! Sunday (6/4) and Caitlyn (2/1) both won their matches against North Queensland (last year's winner) this morning. Rebecca won 3/2 and Sunday lost 4/2 playing Brisbane & District this afternoon.
